Born in Sicily at the feet of Etna near those huge rocks that, according to classical mythology, Polyphemus casted towards Odysseus' ship.
Like Odysseus she is completely attracted by the pleasure of discovery and it is 25 years that she travels around the globe visiting every month more than a continent.
After the classical high school diploma she follows her father's steps and starts studying Law to become a lawyer. But her passion for new places, cultures, metalities, traditions of far away and different lands emerges and she decides to change route. Attracted by her travels and the books she reads, in 1991 she decides to become an Alitalia hostess moving to Rome.
She loves to constantly discover new places, meet and compare with people from everywhere, she reads a lot especially psychology and sociology essays, she loves music, the sea, the sun and has a collection of sand coming from all around the world.
Versatile and creative, she has a huge passion for painting. Her last works have been recently exhibit at the Festival Libro possibile in Polignano: her innovative work conjugates words and colours, translating the emotions of reading in a visiual form.
She has always been seduced by writing; she started with short stories and then she published her first book Vita da hostess (Robin Ed.). She has different projects in the pipe line including a new novel and two scripts: Jet Legs and Hair Revolution.
She lives in between Rome, where she works and lives together with her son, and Apulia where she recently created the guest house Marina Castellana in classic Apulia style located in the historical center of the medieval village of Castellana Grotte. The structure is intended to be a quiet working place for internationals artists and writers and an open space for presentations, vernissages and different types of cultural presentations.
Marina is an unconventional writer able to translate in a fascinating story all the experiences and emotions she lives in her constant pilgrimage around the world.
With Oakmond Publishing she'll soon publish her first book in English.
